CBTT Results 6/6/12
June 6, 2012 By John
We had a pretty good turn out for an iffy night. The rain all slid south of Rt. 2, so it was sunny and nice in Concord and Carlisle. Luckily for Jerry Jacobs and Bob Stasey, they took me at my word that it is not off unless I say it’s off. It was pouring in Wayland when they left to ride up and arrived soaking but ready to go. I’m glad, too. Bob was my holder. Thanks, Bob. We had Gavin Mannion come up as our guest star fresh from the Tour of California and the U23 Paris-Roubaix. He didn’t have any visible bruises but he said he ended up in a bush at one point (at Paris-Roubaix, not tonight.) He was stopped by traffic or I might have been updating the records. It seemed to be a tough traffic night as John Whisnant and Al Kumnick had issues, too. Al didn’t want it reported but it happened, so… John says he found a new spot for people to veer right before they turned left. It’s annoying, but it happens. Remember, we behave towards cars. Paul McMahon of CCB put in a nice time. Cathy and Mike showed up at the start to wish all well. They were out for an evening ride. Mike is back at work, so he gave me a hard time about not having sealant in my tubeless tires. Work seems to make people irritable. I wouldn’t know. Thank you to Lee and Bob for registering and timing. Thanks to Bob Stasey for holding. Welcome to the new folks. One, Doug Marple is a friend I haven’t seen in 15 years. Remember, it a TT it’s not supposed to be fun. So, come on back and have some more no fun next week.
