Breakstone, White & Gluck Donates Over 10,000 Bicycle Helmets to Protect Children Through Project KidSafe Campaign

Breakstone, White & Gluck, a Boston law firm and a long-time supporter of the Northeast Bicycle Club, has finished its 2016 Project KidSafe campaign, donating nearly 5,000 bicycle helmets to children across Massachusetts, many in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and Arlington. The firm has now donated over 10,000 bicycle helmets to children since 2013.

Breakstone, White & Gluck started its Project KidSafe campaign to help protect children. The firm’s attorneys wanted to encourage children to wear a helmet every time they ride to protect themselves from serious head injuries.

Each year, attorneys and community partners distribute the helmets at bike rodeos and community events and take time to show children and families how to properly fit a helmet. The firm has over 40 partners, including Boston Bikes’ Roll It Forward, CYCLE Kids, the Somerville Public Schools, the Kiwanis Club of Somerville, the Friends of Lexington Bikeways and the Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee.

The firm also donated more than 1,500 bicycle helmets to local police departments, including the Cambridge Police Department, Boston Police Department and Waltham Police Department.

Attorney David W. White says, “We want children to take home a helmet and the message that they must wear one every time they ride to protect themselves. We hope they carry that message with them throughout their lives.”
