Years Racing and How You Got Into Cycling: 4 seasons: racing hilly road races and hill climbs in New England. Former nationally ranked distance runner (Competed in ‘84 and ‘88 US Olympic Marathon Trials and finished top 10 in 3 Boston Marathons), 2nd in National 10K road race championship.
Loved the running but an injury in my early 40s convinced me to buy a road bike to do some training that was easier on the joints. So, combined running with biking… I wasn’t competing then; just loved both sports for all the benefits they bring (which are many)!! Did my first cycling road race at 55 and managed to achieve the course record in my age division up Mt. Washington at 57; 3rd overall (1st in age division) in BUMPS series 2012 and 2014.
Goals for 2015: Mt. Washington and Nationals
